Convenors: Andrew Rogers and Helen Cameron
The Bible and practical theology special interest group was formed in 2011. The group aims to explore all aspects of how the Bible is engaged in practical theology. We meet every year at the annual conference usually with a guest speaker. The group held a symposium in 2012 at Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre in Birmingham to look at the critical issues at the time around Bible and practical theology. You can read a report on this event here.We held our second symposium at the same venue in December 2022 (pictured above) and you can read the details here. If you would like to join the group distribution list, just email us at the address below.
At conference this July 2023 we are very pleased to have Fleur Dorrell, Catholic Scripture Engagement Manager for Bible Society, who will be talking about resourcing Bible engagement, with reference to The God Who Speaks project. Elizabeth Ridley, Catholic practical theologian and Roehampton DTh student, will be responding – and there will be plenty of time to discuss the issues raised. Hope to see you there!
