Book launch – Catholic Social Thought & Prison Ministry – 29 April

Category: General

Date: April 10, 2024

We warmly invite you to join us at Wesley House or Online on Monday 29 April, 2024 at 4 pm for the book launch of Catholic Social Thought & Prison Ministry.

This book, edited by Dr Elizabeth Phillips and Dr Férdia Stone Davis, offers critical insights into the relationship between Catholic Social Teaching, Catholic social thought, and the prison system and chaplaincy, probing the roles, limitations, and potential of each in fostering social action and pastoral care.

Bishop Richard Moth (Lead Bishop for Prisons for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales) will join us in person for the launch, offering a few thoughts on the book.

The book is the culmination of the research project Flourishing Inside conducted at the Margaret Beaufort Institute also led by Dr Férdia Stone Davis and Dr Elizabeth Phillips, supported by a grant from the Charles Plater Trust.
