Our conference theme in 2026 offered speakers the opportunity to explore a variety of understandings of ‘Power and the Common Good’ in relation to Practical Theology. Across the conference, a diversity of interpretations and practices relating to this area were explored.
Following on from our conference we now invite submissions to the journal, particularly from those who contributed to the conference. We would like to reflect the diverse themes covered by the conference.
Papers should be no more than 6,000 words and contain a structured abstract of 150-250 words. Please see the guidelines for submissions for full instructions.

Practical Theology is a peer reviewed journal so your submission will be read anonymously by two experts in the field. Then the guest editor, the Revd Dr Anna Creedon, will consider which papers will be included in the Special Edition.
All submissions should be submitted through Practical Theology’s online submission portal. At submission, please select “Special Issue” when you are prompted in the submission portal.
